A fun day!!

I took a personal day today since my Birthday is tomorrow, me and the girls had a day out. (Me, Myself and I). Sometimes I just love going shopping by myself. And was it ever a gorgeous day for March, 70 degrees. I got my hair trimmed and highlighted, something I rarely have time to do. I went to Big Lots, Michaels, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Targets, Kohls, JC Penneys,a primitive shop, a quilt shop, and a farmers market.  I also went to a place called the cupcake co. and got a Hummingbird cupcake, It was free since tomorrow is my Birthday, was it ever yummy. I did get my husband a cupcake too. His was decorated for St. Patricks Day.
Now to show some of my goodies.

Spring Wool Applique Project

I finally finished my Spring wool applique project. It is called "Hop" by Buttermilk Basin. I just love her patterns. I put away my Winter projects and decided to move on to other projects. I am so ready for Winter to end, so I am thinking Spring. I love the green grass, Easter flowers, baby lambs and baby calves hopping around in the fields. Robins and baby bunnies in my yard. Just a beautiful time of the year!!!

New Wreath

I am a school nurse and decided to make a wreath for my school clinic. I made this wreath using mostly dollar tree materials. The sign I did order from etsy and some of the ribbon is from walmart.
But it really was inexpensive to make. I really have been enjoying making the deco mesh wreaths.
Now for the finished product.

Spring Projects

Yesterday was another day off school due to high winds, power outages and downed trees. I am like a little kid and get excited getting a day off from school. I took advantage of the day and started on a Spring Wool applique. Called "Hop", by Buttermilk Basin. I have found a neat way to hold your wool applique pieces in place. I have been using a long arm stapler and it has been a life saver. I just staple all the pieces in place and when I take out the staples it doesn't leave any marks in the wool.
I am hoping to get it all stitched so I can enjoy it by Easter.
I am on a roll making deco mesh wreaths, they are so much fun. I used a working frame wreath for this one, a small frame has 12 ties,) I think I prefer the one with 18 ties better. The 12 tie wreath made the finished wreath approx. 20 inches, that is not counting the height of the bunny.
I did the ruffle method, instead of cutting 3--10 inch pieces for each tie, I cut 30-inch pieces, so I only needed 12 ---30 inch pieces. It is so quick, Then I used I think 6 different types of ribbon, but you can use 2 or whatever you like. I cut them in 14 inch strips and dove tailed the ends. Most of the ribbon was just plain, but I think I do prefer the wired ribbon, because you can place it around better and it stays. My deco mesh jute was 10 inches wide. I ordered the bunny kit from etsy.
I will attach pictures. Are you like me and thinking Spring???

A touch of Spring

I am counting the days until Spring. I decided to put away my snowmen and put out some Spring decor. There are a few things I love to decorate for the different seasons. My favorite things to decorate are my Hoosier Cabinet, my three tier tray and my farmhouse sink. I will show a few photo's.

Snow days

I was lucky to get off two days from my job for the snow we received. I took advantage and worked on some projects. I finished a wool applique project, pattern by Buttermilk Basin. I painted some canning jars and put some spring flowers in them. I made a huge wreath, and some homemade cinnamon rolls.
Such a fun day! A day for me.

Projects

I enjoy crafting so much. But with working two jobs my time for crafting is limited. I was able to spend today crafting. I made a Valentine Wreath with all items from the dollar tree, except the gold ribbon that I got for $1.00 at walmart. If you would like to watch a step by step tutorial I am adding the link "This Southern Girl Can"  , this girl is so funny and offers so many quick and inexpensive tutorials.

I enjoy doing wool applique and have several projects that I want to get completed. I have the wool pieces cut and attached to table runner. It is called the January Vintage Table runner  pattern by Buttermilk Basin. I need to do the stitching and add buttons for the snowman's eyes.

I will show some projects that I want to complete this year.
