New Bonnets

I am asked alot for bonnets made with drab fabrics, browns and blues seem to be the most popular.
I am having trouble finding reasonable priced fabric for my bonnets.  Well I hit the jackpot and found some beautiful fabrics. I love, love these bonnets, the colors are just gorgeous!
These bonnets are approx. 26" long and inspired by a " Drakestone Primitive"  pattern that I have
made longer and did some changing to my liking.
I am asking $22.99 each plus $4.00 traveling fee.
Email me if you are interested in any of these bonnets Lecia123@verizon.net

My finished Table Runner

My two sisters and I finished our beginners quilting class. We had such a wonderful instructor,
she had so much patience and explained everything in detail. I know my runner isn't perfect, but I am
quite pleased with how it turned out. And it was so much fun doing this with my sisters.
The fabric I used was a civil war reproduction fabric, by Marcus brothers. I love their fabric.

I want to make a quilt one day, but think I will make a few table runners and table squares for now.

The finished table runner.

Love the fabric for the backing

Beginners Quilting Class

I have always wanted to learn how to quilt. I would be happy knowing how to make quilted table runners and wall hangings and maybe one day making a quilt. My two sisters and I decided to take a beginners quilting class. This is a beginners quilting class and it is a two week session. Our first class was this week,
we learned the proper way to use the rotary cutter and the cutting mat. We cut out our squares and the various pattern pieces. We sewed the top of our table runners, next week we learn how to quilt the runner, add the backing and the binding. It was so much fun and so information.
Here are the beginning pictures, hopfully next week I will have a picture of the finished product.

I also wanted to show you the new penny rug that I finished, I love how it turned out.

Soldier Doll

I have been wanting to make a primitive soldier. I found a pattern by "Bittersweet Susan".
The pattern has him as a setting soldier, but I decided to make him standing.
He is approx. 21" tall, his uniform is made from grey wool. He has buttons and rusty pins
down the front of his uniform and on his hat. The buttons have the appearance of buttons
from olden days. He has a beard made from raw sheep wool. He is heavily stained and has
a real belt around his waist. He is standing on an old piece of weatherboarding from our old farmhouse.
He is also holding a prim Americana flag.
I am asking $36.99 plus traveling fee if interested. Lecia123@verizon.net

My first Mouse

I decided to try to make a mouser. For being my first attempt I am quite pleased with how she turned out.
I decided to make her on a wool pinkeep. The total mouse is approx. 8" tall. She is wearing a orange, black and yellow plaid dress. She is made from muslin and has felt ears and beaded eyes. Her legs and arms are
rusty nails. She is holding a banner that says BOO. Should you be interested I am asking $32.99 plus traveling fee. She would be great for your fall decor or Halloween. Lecia123@verizon.net
Only one available, asking $29.99 plus traveling fee.

New Penny Rug and Camping trip

I seem to always have to be doing something, I have such a hard time just setting still. We went camping this weekend and I was able to finish a penny rug that I have been working on. I have had the pattern for a couple years and decided to make it, it is a pattern by Brenda Gervais.
My husband, daughter and my daughters two children took a two day trip to  Big Bear Lake, Bruceton Mills, WV. My BIL owns a campsite there, it is really beautiful and he has a slide that goes out into the lake.
I am not much of a camper, and the worst thing to me is going to a bathhouse that is shared by other campers for bathroom needs and showers. Even though I am a country girl I like the comfort of  home.
It was worth the trip though, just seeing all of the fun that my grandkids were having, I enjoyed seeing them
having fun. The lake is such  beautiful area though and I ended up having a good time. I will share a few photo's. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer, it sure is going fast.
