Finished Project

I really love wool applique. I recently finished a wool applique project that I am quite proud of. It is a large project. The pattern is call, "A Gentle Life" by "Threads that bind". It is huge 7"x36".
I am finding that I am decorating my home with things that I have made, and down sizing some of my primitive collection.

Thinking Spring

On one of my snow days I was able to make a bunny for one of my friends Birthday.

Finished project

I am so thrilled to show you my finished punch needle project. It is called, "Farm Chores", a Notforgotten farm pattern.
I am not the greatest at punch needle. but find it is getting a little easier with each project.
This project took me a year to complete. And I am one of these persons that always has about 3 projects going at once.
I hung this on an old feed sack, you can still see the old stains and wear of the feedsack and a
childs broom. Actually my children played with this broom when they were small.
I am so proud and pleased to finally have this project completed. What do you think?

Awesome Read

I was given a free book to read by Bethany House. My only requirement is to give an honest book review. I was given the book, "The Sound of Rain", by Sarah Loudin Thomas. I just love this author,
this book was totally awesome. I just couldn't put it down.
It was dear to my heart, because I grew up in WV and also have taken family vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC.
The story takes place in the 1950's. It centers around a young coal miner Judd Markley, who
was in a coal mining accident in which his younger brother was killed and he was badly injured.
Judd has heard that there is work in timber in SC. So he decides to go there for work.
The other character Larkin Heyward, is a well to do girl from Myrtle Beach, SC. But has always had dreams of helping poor Appalachia children from Kentucky.
Drawn together in the wake of Hurricane Hazel that changes Myrtle Beach forever. Will their different dreams draw them together or tear them apart?
You will have to read the book to find out. I recommend this book highly!!! You won't be dissapointed!!
