Wonderful Swap Goodies!

My wonderful friend Tammy "NC Primitives From the Past"  and I recently did a swap. Tammy was

the very first person that I ever did a swap with. Her and I do at least 2 swaps a year. We met

through blogging and have become very good friends. We are hoping to meet one day.

Tammy has been such an inspiration to me in crafting, always encouraging me and giving me

hints to help with my crafting. When we first met, I don't think I even did any crafting. She encouraged

me to make prairie bonnets and stitcheries, and then other things. She is always there to answer

any questions that I have. She makes wonderful prims and sells her things to several shops.

I love, love all of my wonderful items from Tammy, but more than that I cherish our friendship!

Thank you Tammy, you are a wonderful crafter and a wonderful friend!!!

Look what arrived at my house today!

I was thrilled to find out that I was a winner  of  Carol "Firecracker Kid" awesome giveaway.

Not only did Carol  give away one of her beautiful rolling pin cabinets, but she gave away three.

And I happened to be one of the lucky winners. She even let us choose our own color.

I am saddened to hear that her and her husband are giving up their woodcrafting business,

but I know they have worked so hard and just need a break. So I am especially thrilled to

have some of Carol and Tim's creations.  I didn't have any wall space left in  my kitchen, so I thought

who says I have to put it in my kitchen. I put the cabinet in my Living Room and totally love it there,

( the rolling pin cover was also made by Carol,) I had gotten it at an earlier time.

Thank you Carol for hosting such a wonderful giveaway, I will forever cherish my cabinets

from you and Tim. Your woodworking talent will be missed, but I understand and wish you

the best!!!  Now to show off my cabinet, Isn't it lovely!!!

Prayers needed for a blogging friend!

I am asking all my blogger friends to please remember a dear sweet blogger friend in your prayers.

Margie "Hungry Hook Primitives"   She has been ill for so long. Pain is a terrible thing and I

know Margie gets so tired of not feeling well. Please lift her up in your prayers for a miracle,

for the Doctor's to find a way to help her.  She has a lovely blog and makes beautiful hooked rugs,

she also dyes wool and sells it. This is what she loves to do, but has been feeling so bad that

she can't even do this. Please pray for Margie!!! She is so sweet and just wants to feel good and

do the things in life that she enjoys. Also pray for the doors to open for her husband to

get  a job.   Please let Margie know that we love her and care.

Here is a photo of some of her awesome work.

Tribute fo a fellow crafter!

I was honored to know a wonderful lady Sandy Schmidt, her blog was "The Olde Country Cupboard"

She had the most wonderful blog, and if you went to the bottom of her blog she had several

patterns to download and giveaway. She was so willing to share her talent and was so giving.

Her web site was "The Olde Country Cupboard"

Sandy had a long battle with cancer and passed away last week. She was one of the most talented ladies

I have ever known in crafting. But she was so down to earth. I remember years ago buying a pattern from

her and she had made me several things over the years. I love prairie things and she had a talent for

making prairie things, I had bought an old dresser drawer display with prairie dolls in it, a prairie bag

holder doll and Hannah a prairie Christmas doll. I will cherish these items from Sandy.

She would give me pointers and help me if I had any questions in my crafting adventure. Please

remember Sandy's family as she is laid to rest tomorrow.

I found a wonderful article about Sandy that I want to share, Please click on the link to

read an interview she gave  "Interview with Sandy"

She was a twin and her sister Cyndy does crafts also. She is talented like Sandy and I own some of her

creations. Please remember all of the family as they go through this difficult time. Sandy leaves behind

her husband, daughter, granddaughter, sister, mom and so many friends that loved her.

She made the world a much better place and was beautiful inside and out, she will be

missed greatly. I am so honored and humbled to have known her!!! RIP sweet Sandy.

"Little Samplings"

I received my book today "Little Samplings", written by Barbara Rice. "Little Samplings"
She writes the Olden Days magazine plus other books. I am thrilled to be a part of the book "Little Samplings", it has a few photo's of my fall decor, plus a few photo's from our WV farmhouse. The book features 21 homes of various primitive homes.
I haven't had time to look at it all, but it looks like a really good book.

Don't forget to stop by "Early Work Mercantile" and take a look at my September offerings.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend.

New Bonnets

I am asked alot for bonnets made with drab fabrics, browns and blues seem to be the most popular.
I am having trouble finding reasonable priced fabric for my bonnets.  Well I hit the jackpot and found some beautiful fabrics. I love, love these bonnets, the colors are just gorgeous!
These bonnets are approx. 26" long and inspired by a " Drakestone Primitive"  pattern that I have
made longer and did some changing to my liking.
I am asking $22.99 each plus $4.00 traveling fee.
Email me if you are interested in any of these bonnets Lecia123@verizon.net

My finished Table Runner

My two sisters and I finished our beginners quilting class. We had such a wonderful instructor,
she had so much patience and explained everything in detail. I know my runner isn't perfect, but I am
quite pleased with how it turned out. And it was so much fun doing this with my sisters.
The fabric I used was a civil war reproduction fabric, by Marcus brothers. I love their fabric.

I want to make a quilt one day, but think I will make a few table runners and table squares for now.

The finished table runner.
