New Pumpkin Guy

I made my first pumpkin doll, for this fall. " BurLee," I used an Olde Homestead Barn pattern,

just love the burlap. He is 22" tall, asking $38.99 plus traveling fee if interested, "Farmhouse Prims"

I have also been tweaking my kitchen cabinets, I love the black, but I was wondering if it was too

much black, I was thinking of getting new handles for my doors, but just can't afford them right now.

A sweet lady on FB told me about a tutorial she had read about on a blog (wish I knew the name

so I could give the person credit), where you wrap the handles with jute, I thought what have I got

to loose, if I don't like the jute, I can always take it off. It really added something to the cabinets I think.

Then above my sink I have 2 shelves to display things, I thought what can I do there, I made a

curtain out of a flour sack, I hung it above the shelf  with jute, it looks adorable I think,

thought I would share some photos.

Vacation

Last week, my husband and I and our two children and three grandchildren, along with my Son in Law,

his sister and parents rented a beach house in Myrtle Beach, S C. We had the most wonderful time

We ate alot of good food, played alot with the grandbabies and talked and laughed alot.

My SIL has the most wonderful family, we just enjoyed their company so much.

I took a few pictures and then my camera bit the dust. I thought it needed new batteries, but

it is broken. I will share a few photo's, sure wish I had some of my SIL family.

I was also able to finish two fall stitcheries.  I am starting to think of fall, and am thinking what am

I going to make next??????

Painting kitchen cabinets

I hate to paint but do to save money. My BF Shelia is an awesome painter and she came to help me.

She is so good to me and will help me with anything, she is a true blessing! I have been thinking about

painting my kitchen cabinets black for a long time. I have been afraid though, because my kitchen is small.

I was afraid that black would make them look smaller, well to my surprise they look bolder and the room

looks bigger. This is step one, I have bought me some vinyl plank flooring, My son and SIL are going

to put that down for me, can't wait, and I will share pictures of that also. Shelia and I have fun

no matter what we do even painting!!!! More pictures to come when the floor is completed!!

Pictures from the old Farmhouse

My husband and I went to WV this past weekend and stayed in our old farmhouse that we are remodeling.

One thing I love about it there is the peace and quiet and love the old out buildings.

They are home to some of the old home place treasures.

I wanted to share some photo's. You all come back now, ya hear!!!!!

Wonderful packages in the mail

Carol "Buttermilk Creek Farm"  asked me if I would like to have some fabric from her that she was

parting with. I said yes, and it arrived today. What a beautiful selection of fabric, each piece that I looked at,

I was already dreaming of what I would be making. Little doll dresses, pumpkin and scarecrow clothes,

snowman and santa outfits, table runners, my mind was just running on and on.

I want to thank you Carol from the bottom of my heart, that was sooo sweet of you to offer the

fabric to me. I appreciate it so much. My stash of fabric usually fits in one bag, I do need to branch

out and get a plastic tote for storage now.

I met Carol though her blog. And for a long time I wanted one of her mousers, well I am crazy over

feedsacks and she made one that I couldn't resist with a feedsack apron. Am I ever proud that I

got that little mouser. I display her proudly and she also has the cutest feedsack and sheep to go with

her. If you have never seen Carol's work you don't know what you are missing. She uses so much

detail in her work. I don't know how she does it. Stop by her blog and check out her creations.

I am already in anticipation of what she is going to come up with for fall.
