New Bonnet and Apron

I decided to make an apron and bonnet in matching fabric, I think they look awesome together.

 If anyone is interested, I will be asking $35.00 for the set.  I was pretty proud how they turned out,

I may just keep it for me, they look pretty awesome together. He He

Surprise in the Mail!

Today when I went to the mailbox their was a package addressed to me. It was a surprise,

Brenda "Pine Tree Prims" sent me the cutest pin keep. Check out Brenda's blog, she makes awesome

pinkeeps and stitcheries. Thank you Brenda, I just love my prim friends! I will cherish this forever!

Meeting a blogging friend and something she made me!!!!!

As many of you know Jean - Prim Crafts and I only live about 8 miles apart. Lucky me!!!!

We have met , but decided to get together again yesterday. She came over to my hair salon and had her

hair cut. Darn 'I forgot to take pictures. I hope you like your hair cut Jean. Then we went out for lunch.

 But I had asked Jean if she would make me a standing prairie doll. Without hesitations she said yes, Well to

my surprise she made two instead of one, she said they were, "Prairie Sisters" !!!

Look at these dolls, aren't they the cutest ever!! I love them!!!

I love the fabrics Jean has used, I love how this one is standing.

I think they are my new favorite dolls!!!! They look awesome displayed on my old hoosier!!!

Perfectly Prim, thank you Jean from the bottom of my heart, Jean is so beautiful on the inside and outside. She made these for me as a gift. I can't express in words,

how thankful and proud I am of these dolls Jean.

I am so glad we live near each other and hope we get to have many visits.

You other blogger girls just need to move to the Shenandoah Valley to be near Jean.

Swap Pictures!!

Cyndy "Crafty Stitchers"  and I decided to do a swap. I fell in love with her Halloween Bag Holder dolls.

So we decided to do a swap.

 I was giving her a bonnet, plus we were adding a little surprise gift. Well to my surprise not only

did I get one bag holder doll, but two and she added a fall penny rug.(  You gave me way tooo much

Cyndy. You really spoiled me). I really love everything and thank you sooooo much from the bottom of my

heart!!! You are just tooo sweet!

Surprise Package!!

Today I received two packages in the mail. I will show pictures of one package today and the other one

tomorrow. This package was a surprise and it was from a very sweet lady , Linda, Parkers Paradise

Linda has one of the biggest hearts and is one of the kindest persons that I have ever met.

Thank you Linda, for surprising me, I love my goodies!

Wow, look at all of this, I am in awe of all of this!!!!

Look at this wonderful old sewing basket filled with old sewing notions. ( Look at the  needle pack, the old tape measure and other goodies),. she also included a quilting book.

I wanted you to see some of the prices on the threads, but they aren't showing up too well. There is some for 29 cents, some for 35 cents. Wow

More thread and an awesome americana tissue holder.

I kept thinking what awesome thing can I do with all of this beautiful thread, I saw one of my old green canning jars and it hit me, doesn't it look awesome in the jar!!!!

Surprise Swap Package!!!

I participated in a swap that Tammy"A Primitive Place"  hosted. We didn't know who our partners were

going to be. Well when I arrived home from work yesterday I had a package waiting for me from Linda

"The Pin Keep" .  I was thrilled with all of my goodies! Thank you Linda!! Now I have a new prim friend.

That is the best thing about swaps!!!! This was fun Linda!!!

Birthday Bash!

Today was my grandson Coles' fifth birthday. His party was yesterday! It was a pirate theme.

Look at the awesome cake, doesn't it look like a real treasure chest. One of my daughters friends made the

cake.

Some things I have been working on!

Last week-end I was able to do some crafting, I made several bonnets. I have two sisters with June

Birthdays and one has a Birthday in July, so I made them each little Birthday gifts. I made them each a table

runner and towel.

These bonnet are 26" long and are $20.00 each, email me if you are interested.

The 22" ones are $18.00 each, many of the fabrics are one of a kind.

New goodies in the Mail!!!

Michelle of "Grannies Pantry" and I did another swap. If you don't have one of Michelles' awesome penny

rugs, you don't know what you are missing. She can just look at a picture or you tell her what you like and

she designs it. Plus she is such a wonderful  sweet giving person!! She is another great blogger friend that

I am privledged to know and own some of her creations. I am showing all of the pictures of what she made

me except one item, it will come later. I had her make it for a special friend and I know that friend peeks in

on my blog. He He Thank you Michelle for the wonderful swap and making these for me, you are such a

wonderful friend! You are another "Kindred Spirit".

Look what I received in the mail today!!!

I was so excited to arrive home from work and have this package waiting on my door step for me.

Traci, from York Mountain Primitives and I decided to do a swap. I had asked her if she could make me one

of her beautiful summer time wreaths. Wow, was I ever surprised when I opened the package, this wreath is

absolutely stunning. It is full of garden veggies and has two of the cutest crows on it. 

I had to put it on my door right away!!! Isn't it gorgeous!!!! Those veggies look good enough to eat!!!

This really touched my heart a flicker light candle

with Farmhouse Prims on it, I love it Traci!!! This is so special!!!

You talk about an awesome prim candle mat, look at the penny rugs and 1851 tag!!!!  It is prim perfect!!!

The cutest crow pillow and wooden board with stitchery and bumble bee attached!!! I love them Traci!!!

The wreath was way to much, I love each and everything Traci, but when I read her card about this bear, it brought tears to my eyes, but happy tears.

This is one of Traci's bears, and does she every make wonderful bears, she named this one, "Darwin", it's an Old English name for "dear friend"!!!!!

The best of both worlds!!

Alot of you have made comments that you didn't know that I am a hairdresser. I have a hair salon in my home. Most of my customers are now my friends.
 And having your own business is the great American dream.

 I also went back to school and graduated in 2005 with an LPN degree, it was so hard going back to school at 45. I think I worked twice as hard to do half as good as those young girls.

 My nursing job is substitute nurse for our county schools. The pay is not that great, but it is so rewarding.
I cannot leave my job there at the schools though, I come home and worry about the little kids. Some things really touch my heart. Like one little girl that told me that her mommy is never home and that she is always away taking cancer treatments (I cried for days over that). Some tell me that their mommies or daddy's have left. I just want to take them all home. I really love them!!! I hope I can show them love and compassion and make a difference in their lives.

 I am also a crafter want to be, I love making my bonnets and dabbling in a few other things, that is my relaxation. I wish I had more time to craft, but I do it when I can.

 I want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend. I am so proud to be an American. I am proud of our men and woman who have served our country so that I can live in freedom.  Thank you present and former people of the military and I remember our fallen soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for this great country!!!! God bless the USA!!!

New Swap Goodies!

Yesterday I received a wonderful package from Linda, of Parkers Paradise!

 Linda is one of the sweetest persons that I have every met. She likes to take old cutting boards

and other things and make them into prim treasures.

 I was thrilled to see that she had given me a cutting board with some of her awesome smelling grubbies!!!

Not only did she give me that cutting board, but another one made into a candle board, with another one

of her yummy grubbied candles.

 I wish I would have taken pictures of them wrapped, but she had them wrapped in two lovely country

towels, she added two lovely coasters also.

New doll and tarts!

I ordered one of Samantha's tissue box holder dolls for my hair salon. Was I really thrilled today when the doll

arrived. I love prairie things and I just had to have this tissue box holder doll. She is so darn cute, I also order a

"Grannies Cornbread" tart. Now let me tell you, does it ever smell yummy. Well what did Samantha go and

do she sent me a few extra. I love them everything Samantha, and thank you for making the doll for me. I

love her!!!!!

New Prairie Doll

I managed to do a little crafting this weekend. I can only show a picture of a doll that I made. I used a chestnut juction pattern. I added the bonnet to give her that prairie look.

Goodies in the Mail!!!

I ordered a candle mat from Brenda, Pine Tree Prims, even though I make candle mats, I get tired of my

own things. Well what a beautiful candle mat Brenda made, and her stitching is perfect!

 I told her how much I loved her little stitchery pillows. Well when I received my candle mat,

guess what she included. Two of the cutest little stitchery pillows. They are so beautiful.

Thank you Brenda, I know you put alot of work into your pillows and candle mats.
