I have always wanted to learn how to quilt. I would be happy knowing how to make quilted table runners and wall hangings and maybe one day making a quilt. My two sisters and I decided to take a beginners quilting class. This is a beginners quilting class and it is a two week session. Our first class was this week,
we learned the proper way to use the rotary cutter and the cutting mat. We cut out our squares and the various pattern pieces. We sewed the top of our table runners, next week we learn how to quilt the runner, add the backing and the binding. It was so much fun and so information.
Here are the beginning pictures, hopfully next week I will have a picture of the finished product.
I also wanted to show you the new penny rug that I finished, I love how it turned out.

LOVE the colors you chose for your table runner! Can't wait to see it finished.
Looks like an older Country Stitches pattern for the wool penny rug ~ had a friend who made it awhile back - cute!

Lecia, you are a brave woman learning how to quilt! I've always wanted to learn as well but fear the never ending fabric stash building that goes along with it. Can't wait to see your runner completed, it is looking wonderful already and your new penny rug is adorable, I love it! Deb
I adore the colors you chose for your first quilt!
You're going to enjoy quilting.
Blessings,
