I have them displayed in a galvanized tray that I found at walmart for $9.95, perfect for displaying them.

Happy Fourth of July

I love Summer, I have so many plans. Last evening we set in the yard and watched the excitement as my one Grandson Jake was setting off firewords. Fireworks are a must for the Forth of July.
I will get up early on the Fourth and go to a community yardsale and since my husband has to work, I plan on sewing all day. I am looking forward to my day. I want to show a little bit of my Summer decor. What will you be doing on the Fourth? When I think of the Fourth of July I think of how lucky
I am to live in a country with freedom, I think of fireworks and grilled hotdogs. Happy 4th!!!

Good ole Summertime

I am off this summer from my school  nursing job. But I am still working two days in my hair salon, so I have hundreds of plans. I am gathering up things now for a yard sale, trying to do some deep cleaning around my house and working on some crafts. I want to work on some of my Christmas gifts this summer, make some bonnets, prairie dolls and finish a needle punch project I am working on. Plus want to do some fun things with my grandbabies.
I did want to show you the Uncle Sam cross stitch that I finished. I cannot see to stitch on linen or osanburg, but I am still able to stitch on the 18 count aida cloth, that is as small as I can get.
I am quite please with how it turned out. There is a lady liberty pattern to match, maybe that will be on my bucket list for next year.

Awesome book review

I am honored to be a book reviewer for Bethany House. I am asked to read a book and do an honest book review. I just finished reading "The Ebb Tide" by Beverly Lewis. This book was awesome,
one of the best yet of Beverly Lewis.
The story is about a young amish girl named Sallie Riehl. Since being a little girl Sallie has always had the yearning to see more of the world outside the amish community. Her biggest dream is to see the ocean. She has worked and saved her money for years to go to Australia. But after finding out about her nephews medical needs and expenses she decides to give her money to help with his medical expenses.
Will Sallie's dream of seeing the ocean ever come true, and will her longing to see more of the world ever happen? She knows her parents are wanting her to join the Amish church, how much longer can
she put them off? Deep in her heart she wants to please them, but she also has other desires.
This is an amazing book that I recommend highly.

I am adding a short video about "The Ebb Tide" also, I highly recommend this book.

Finished project

One of my favorite pastimes is wool applique. And I just love the vintage truck series by "Buttermilk Basin". I finished the May truck and just love it. I think one reason I love it, is the beautiful color combination.

I also have a few other items that I want to share.
Bo, my little sidekick, isn't he adorable

Lantern my friend Teresa's husband made for me.

Lilacs my hubby picked for me.

My outdoor timer light lantern

Wreath my best friend Shelia made for me.

New addition and Spring has sprung

We are so thrilled to have another grandchild in our family, Little Ruby Grace, she was born
March 23, and weighed 7lbs. 9oz. What makes this day so special is that it is also my dads Birthday,
I wish my mom could see little Ruby, but maybe she can in Heaven. Mom knew, before her passing that Stephanie was going to have a baby.
I love Spring and am enjoying my spring decor. I am still working on my Spring projects, a needle
punch and a wool applique project.
I also got some money for my Birthday and bought some wool applique kits that I am anxious to
work on.
It is so hard working 50 hours a week and taking care of a home and all other things that we
have to do, but I am taking one day at a time and thankful that I have the health to work.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day!
