So much to be thankful for!

Yesterday I went to my sisters for Thanksgiving, her and my BIL always make you feel so welcome.

They have such a beautiful home with some acreage and goats and chickens. I have so much to be thankful

for. I am still blessed to have my parents and sisters. I have 2 wonderful children and 3 beautiful

grandchildren.I am thankful for my husband. And several wonderful nieces and nephews. I have a warm

home, two wonderful jobs,

plenty of food to eat, good health, and freedom to worship, and many wonderful friends, many

are blogging friends.

I will post a few pictures of our Thanksgiving. Everyone was present except my one BIL that had

to work and my husband, who is on vacation hunting .And my deceased brother,

I think of him especially on holidays.  My family can't all get together on Christmas,

so we give the children who are still in school small christmas gifts on Thanksgiving. My one

little grandson Jake was so excited opening his gifts that he looked at me and said, "Maw it is Christmas"!

What an awesome fun day that I cherish and am thankful for! Family is very important to me.

Are you thinking about Christmas??

Wow, can you believe how fast this year is going. Thanksgiving is next week already. I love Thanksgiving

that is kinda like my families Christmas, since we all can't get together at Christmas, so I am getting excited.

Last weekend my husband and I kept our grandchildren Cole and Riley we had so much fun

with them. We played games and  they made me Christmas lists.  My other little grandson Jake

came a couple days later and saw their lists hanging on the refridgerator. He wanted to make one too,

well every page of the toy catalog was cut up practically so I had to get another toy book for him.

So when he comes here again we will make his list. My son also brought him

to our house trick or treating last week, since he was away

on Halloween, the cutest bat you ever saw!!!!

I made a snowman and santa set yesterday,

I will post a picture, I want to decorate with alot of greenery from outside this year. (So

I just put them in a pan with some cedar).

Our church participated in operation Christmas child and collected boxes on Sunday.

They have to be mailed early so they can arrive to the different countries by Christmas.

That is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas. I would love to see those little faces

when they open their boxes. It is such a warm feeling, that is the true meaning of what Christmas is about.

Cole also has the back page filled up, and I also put a huge amount of pictures in an envelope for him to take home and make Santa a list. he he

God Bless the USA!

I want to thank all of our veterans for serving our great country. My father and husband are veterans

and are very proud of their service to our country!!  Thanks to all of our veterans  for your service

to our country so  that I

can live in freedom. God Bless the USA!!!!!

My son was born at Fort Belvoir , Va. while my husband was in the military.

My husband is very patriotic and gets very upset if the National Anthem is played at

football games etc. and when men don't show their respect by removing their hats.

Many people don't realize the sacrifice that our veterans have made so that we can live in freedom.

Thank you veterans I appreciate you!!!!!

New Primitives that I have made

We were really fortunate in this part of  Va. we had high winds and rain but thankfully no damage

at my house due to Hurricaine Sandy. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the people effected by Sandy.

School was closed  for two days so I decided to do some sewing. I made Mr. and Mrs.

Santa, I was inspired by a pattern by, "The Goode Wife of Washington County".

I also made a Santa using a "Bittersweetfolkart" Pattern.

I like to add my own touches to patterns, as I am sure most crafters do.

Email me if you are ever interested in anything that I make. FARMHOUSE PRIMS

Weekend Getaway

This weekend one of my friends and I spent the weekend at our farmhouse in WV.

We just relaxed, went to a few thrift and antique shops and rode around in the country

and just enjoyed  the beauty of the fall season. We also talked and  laughed alot.

It was a real nice girls weekend.   I also worked on a pennyrug, the pattern

I used was from Karen, "My Colonial Home" .  I love her patterns.  The pattern didn't call

for buttons, but I decided to add them to the tree. Love how it turned out.

New addition to my Prims!

My awesome friend  Jean "Prim Crafts" made me the most awesome cats. Boo and Hiss, don't you just love

them. I met Jean through blogging and come to find out we only live 8 miles from each other. So we

have visited with each other several times,

Jean is so sweet and caring, I feel like I have known her for years, she feels just like

what do we country people say, "Kinfolk". Even the first time I met Jean, I felt like we had

been friends for years.

She has been a real inspiration and help in my crafting too.

I am just so tickled with Hiss and Boo," thank you Jean."  And I hope Jean doesn't mind me

posting this, but I have a request. Please keep Jean and her doggy  in your prayers, her

little dog is very sick and it is breaking Jeans heart. Jean is a very special friend and I

hate to see her hurting. Love you Jean!
