Visit to the Amish Country

My best friend Shelia and I made our Spring trip to Lancaster Pa. last week, we were able to spend two nights. We had the most enjoyable time. We always enjoy riding in the country and looking at
the amish farmland. We went to probably 5 amish greenhouses, everything was so lush and beautiful.
We also hit several primitive shops. It was such a relaxing and fun trip. I will show some of my purchases. Sorry I didn't get any amish photo's except one. It is hard to get pictures of them especially
since the amish don't want you to take their pictures.  I go there at least twice every year and I never
get tired of it there.

Wow! I just love all those things. I really like Americana and Amish decor.

Things have been so wild around here that I haven't gotten to get started on any of my projects. :(

I hope it changes soon. :)
Have a great week, Lecia
Take care, Janet W

Wonderful goodies! We have a small Amish community here in teh Thumb of Michigan and they often travel on one of our busiest roads. It makes me nervous because it is quite hilly and folks driving are not able to see them if they are going down the hill until they are right there. Janice

I was just in Lancaster last week also (the 22nd) with my husband and sister. We like to stay at the Soudersburg Motel, a 'family tradition' since the early 80's. My sister tried to get photos of the Amish working in their fields or in their buggies but we were in the car and the photos didn't turn out. Although she did get one of a parked horse & buggy when we stopped at a hardware store.
LOVE your home and your newly acquired Amish goodies.

Oh my goodness I love your purchases! The valances in the pics are awesome and I spied a certain little Patriotic pretty :)
How special to have a dear friend to share time away together.........
I'm ready to start planting up my (many of them) pots and planters. May 1 is usually my starting date since I buy myself an anniversary geranium! Weather is warming and I'm moving slow but determined to get outdoors.
Enjoyed your pictures Lecia.
Hugs~
