Wonderful Weekend

My husband and I went to our old farmhouse that we are remodling in WV for the weekend. He did several

hours of yard work and I cleaned inside for hours. Then Sat. we rode in the country on back roads and saw

so many beautiful sites. We saw some deer, wild turkey, squirrels and to top the list we saw a mammy bear

and her two cubs. But wild life is very jumpy, so everytime I got my camera to take pictures off they went.

I did get the deer and wild turkey, but they were so far away, it is hard to make out what they are in the

the pictures. We also saw a mother deer nursing her two little fawns, it was so cute and I have never

saw bears out in the wild. What an awesome site to see, and I was safe being in my vehicle. he he

I also managed to finish an entire penny rug. The pattern is a KM primitive pattern. I will share a few

pictures.

  14. LOVE your penny rug! I also love Karen's patterns but I haven't bought any yet. I got on her website to order some and couldn't decide so I didn't order any, lol. I gotta get back over there. Your mitten penny is adorable!

What beautiful countryside the farmhouse is located in. How fortunate you are to see so much wildlife. I love watching deer. I really miss seeing them in the house we live in now. I could sit and watch them for a long time. Beautiful pictures!

About Me

My photo
I have been married to my sweetheart Ronnie for 30 years. We live in the beautiful shenandoah valley of Va. We have 2 beautiful children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. I am a christian, and am blessed with two wonderful jobs. I am a hairdresser and also a nurse, I am proud of my nursing degree which I got at age 47. I give the Lord much praise for this. I also enjoy primitive crafts, antiquing, cooking, reading and gardening. My husband and I bought an old farmhouse in WV five years ago and it was ancient, floor rotted out in the kitchen, no bathroom, bats flying around, mice. Scary, well now five years later we have most of it completed, working now on a roof for the wrap around porch. We sand blasted some of the walls so they would be original, we also took all the old weatherboarding off of the outside of the house, planed it and put it back on some of the inside walls. We also have added a wrap around porch. Since we have remodled the old farmhouse, that is how I came up with my blog name.
