Coverlet or Homespun Blanket?

Blogger friends I need your help. I would love to have a coverlet but don't feel like I can afford to pay the price for one. I know that sometimes people use these homespun blankets for coverlets. I have black curtains with a cream design throughout the curtains. So which blanket should I pick the black/stripped or brick/stripped? Also what would you do for the pillowcase, two pillow cases or a bolster? Any prim suggestions will be appreciated!!! ( P.S. I forgot to mention, these bedrooms are pictures of the blankets that I like, they are not my bedrooms, I wish they were). Sorry I forgot to mention this earlier.

  2. I am totally loving the red brick one..it matches your wall paper and I love red..but I do love black too..so maybe some black pillows to go with your curtains to tie it all in...you could even do some cross stitching on some pillows to add to that vintage look..I can't wait to see what you come up with.:)

  3. I would go with the black one. That way if you ever want to change colors, black goes with everything. Just a thought, You could get one of the table squares and make pillow cases out of that. Could use red there for accent. Good luck, no matter what you can't go wrong. Love all the Family heirloom weavers stuff! OLm

About Me

My photo
I have been married to my sweetheart Ronnie for 30 years. We live in the beautiful shenandoah valley of Va. We have 2 beautiful children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. I am a christian, and am blessed with two wonderful jobs. I am a hairdresser and also a nurse, I am proud of my nursing degree which I got at age 47. I give the Lord much praise for this. I also enjoy primitive crafts, antiquing, cooking, reading and gardening. My husband and I bought an old farmhouse in WV five years ago and it was ancient, floor rotted out in the kitchen, no bathroom, bats flying around, mice. Scary, well now five years later we have most of it completed, working now on a roof for the wrap around porch. We sand blasted some of the walls so they would be original, we also took all the old weatherboarding off of the outside of the house, planed it and put it back on some of the inside walls. We also have added a wrap around porch. Since we have remodled the old farmhouse, that is how I came up with my blog name.
